UK Government backing Shell plans to leave oil installations in North Sea?

Concerns have been raised over Shell’s plans to leave Oil installations in the North Sea instead of conducting a full decommission.

The UK government have apparently given Shell its full support in this proposed move, but the Germans aren’t happy.

However, the UK government may be undermining international conventions designed to protect the marine environment.

German ministers have met with Shell to raise their concerns.
